Anders Bülow
Biography
Anders Bülow graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. He works with different tracks within painting and sculpture, where paper plays a central role. What the works have in common is that they move in a field where they do not let themselves categorize as neither painting nor sculpture. Instead, it is the limitations and possibilities of the material that form the direction of the work. With the works' optical means – a kind of embossing technique, where treated linoleum sheets are pressed against the paper – Anders Bülow wants to challenge perception and spatial understanding with the viewer. The process has its own poetic course and opens up a series of existential questions about the function and creation of the artwork. The works ultimately appear with a distinctive sensitive aesthetic, where colors, surfaces and the three-dimensional form balance and vibrate on the paper.
